About fifty trail advocates and local officials joined a festive atmosphere at McCooles in Quakertown to celebrate the emerging trail network in the greater Quakertown Region.
The Bucks County Commissioners voted on January 6, 2016 to select the Doylestown based firm Boucher & James to provide design and engineering services for the planned Upper Bucks Rail Trail, which will be developed along a 3.3-mile stretch of unused track between Veterans Park in Richland Township, and the Bucks-Lehigh County line near Coopersburg.

Micheaux State Forest gained another 1,100-acre this August, bringing its total acreage to 85,500. The addition of the land, known as the Eagle Rock Tract, was made possible with $1.5 million in funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, as well as with funding from DCNR and Greene and Franklin Counties.
