AMC launches the Water Resources Interactive Map of the PA Highlands

New Interactive Map for PA Paddlers and Anglers

The Appalachian Mountain Club is pleased to announce the launch of the Pennsylvania Highlands Water Resources Interactive Map located on the Pennsylvania Highlands website.

This interactive map highlights select paddling and fishing opportunities inside the PA Highlands. The map provides users with information on paddling, fishing, scenic value, and water quality for the selected lakes and rivers.  Information on USGS gauges and access points is also provided.

This map allows users to locate rivers or lakes that border a park or abundant forested areas.  Map users can discover the quality of the water that they are floating on or fishing in, as well as the causes that influence that water’s quality.  Besides showing where to fish and paddle this map provides users with information concerning the quality of the local resource to provide a more enjoyable experience in the PA Highlands.

The Water Resources Interactive Map provides the user with valuable conservation and recreation information while allowing the selection of the best locations in the PA Highlands to paddle and fish.
