AMC partnered with the Schuylkill River Greenways National Historic Area and Union Township to produce an interpretive sign along the Schuylkill River Trail.
The interpretive kiosk provides information about recreation and historic resources along the Highlands Trail. The kiosk, installed at Union Meadows Park near Birdsboro includes three panels. The first panel includes information about the many historic resources found in Union Township, Berks County and includes information about the cleanup of the Schuylkill River that led to the development of Union Meadows Park. The second panel shows a map of the Schuylkill River Trail and gives information about the National Heritage Area. The section of the Schuylkill River Trail from Oaks in Montgomery County to Union Township, Berks County, is a part of the Highlands Trail. The third panel provides information about the Mid Atlantic Highlands and a provides a map of the Highlands Trail. AMC looks forward to partnering with other agencies and municipalities to produce the Highlands Trail interpretive signage along local and regional trail sytems.
