What is the Pennsylvania Highlands Trail Network?

The Pennsylvania Highlands Trail Network (PHTN) will largely follow and connect a system of existing trails between the Delaware River at Riegelsville to the border of Maryland. To learn more about the PHTN click here.

A true keystone of our state, the Pennsylvania Highlands region encompasses portions of 13 counties and 1.9 million acres of land at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. To learn more about the Highlands region click here.

Who is organizing the trail network?

The Appalachian Mountain Club and the Pennsylvania Highlands Trail Network Steering Committee have been meeting to discuss PA Highlands Trail routes. Check the Events Page for upcoming steering committee meetings.
