New Highlands Website Showcases Trails, Partnerships, Planning, and Conservation

Appalachian Mountain Club invites visitors to explore their new website for the Pennsylvania Highlands Region at pahighlands.org.

The new website has been redesigned to offer a user-friendly experience with improved navigation and functionality, including an updated interactive map of the 13 county PA Highlands Region.

Created with the user experience in mind, the site includes new and improved features that help users quickly and easily navigate the site to find the information they seek, including:

  • An updated Highlands Region interactive map that provides information on critical natural and historic resources, Highlands Coalition partners, and park and recreation resources along the 300-mile Highlands Trail.
  • Easy to access information about the Highlands Coalition, including funding data and fact sheets about the federal Highlands Conservation Act, news stories, and information about Highlands Coalition webinars.
  • A Planning and Conservation research section where users can easily access data, studies, plans and mapping related to land and water conservation efforts throughout the PA Highlands region.
  • A Highlands Trail section where users can access information about the Highlands Trail, including a “Find Your Trail Section” about the individual trails that make up the Highlands route, trail projects that are underway, completed plans and studies, and information about the Highlands Trail Steering Committee and the Highlands Trail Stewards work crew.

Visitors to the new website can stay informed with the latest conservation and trail news from around the Highlands Region with the updated online blog.
