The Highlands Trail passes though French Creek State Park, following the Six Penny Trail.
Highlands Trail Route
In Union Township, Berks County, the Highlands Trail route follows the Six Penny Trail south of Route 345 / Chestnut Road within French Creek State Park. Following the Six Penny Trail south, the Highlands Trail route follows the Six Penny Trail hiking route that turns and heads southwest for a distance of one mile. The Highlands Trail route then meets with and follows the Horse-Shoe Trail west out of French Creek State Park.
