Appalachian National Scenic Trail

In Pennsylvania, the Appalachian Trail follows the Kittatinny Ridge from the Delaware Water Gap southwest to the Michaux Forest in south central Pennsylvania.

Highlands Trail Route

The Highlands Trail follows the Appalachian Trail at its junction with the Mason Dixon Trail near Whiskey Springs, south of Dillsburg, in south-central Pennsylvania and continues south for 48.8 miles to the Maryland border.

Facts

The Appalachian Trail is a natural surface hiking trail and can be extremely rocky and steep in areas. The Appalachian Trail is managed by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
