PA Highlands Conservation Information Center
The 1.8 million acre Pennsylvania Highlands region extends along a corridor of high elevation forested land from the Delaware River at the New Jersey border to the Maryland border in central PA. This landscape is part of the 3.5 million acres Mid-Atlantic Highlands region that spans the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. The Pennsylvania Highlands Conservation Information Center (PHCIC) provides tools to assist conservation planning and implementation as well as to track land conservation results in the PA Highlands. PHCIC’s goal is to make it easy for users to search, access, and share PA Highlands data. The website was developed and is maintained by the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC).
The PA Highlands GIS Clearinghouse is designed to help users locate available spatial data pertaining to the PA Highlands.
The PA Highlands Land Conservation and Trails Tracking System allows users to view statistics and new land conservation acquisitions for protected lands and trails within the PA Highlands.
PA Highlands Parcel Level Analysis for Landscape Land Protection and Long Distance Trails highlights studies conducted in the PA Highlands that focus on parcel level analyses for land protection and development of trails.
PA Highlands Related Resources highlights organizations working within the PA Highlands region, as well as important research, model ordinances/easements/ agreements, zoning documents, county-level conservation district programs and resources, and conservation, recreation, and planning projects occurring in the area.
