Watch “Discover the Highlands Trail in Pennsylvania”

Description

How do we ensure that the value of nature is included in local planning decisions? Open space and natural resources support the municipal budget and contribute to the local economy, but these benefits are often overlooked when negotiating with landowners, policymakers, and the public.

Presenters discuss their groundbreaking Return on Environment studies in the PA Highlands region. This webinar will discuss the findings of the studies, as well as the ways in which this data can be incorporated into decision-making and marketing strategies. This research has been conducted in multiple counties throughout the PA Highlands by our partners.

The Pennsylvania Highlands is a 1.4 million acre region that encompasses parts of 13 counties and boasts unique ecological and cultural resources that contribute to the economic and aesthetic value of the area, as well as provide opportunities for outdoor recreation and enjoyment.
