Riegelsville to Easton

This section of the Highlands Trail begins in the Borough of Riegelsville and follows the D&L Trail north along the Delaware Canal towpath in Delaware Canal State Park. The 165-mile D&L Trail is a National Recreational Trail that is coordinated by the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. The entire D&L Trail along the Delaware Canal Towpath is part of the Delaware Canal State park and as such is maintained by park staff. Friends of the Delaware Canal is a non-profit organization that advocates for the protection and maintenance of the the canal and its towpath.

This section contains outstanding views of the Delaware River, passing through the historic hamlet of Raubsville and the Roosevelt Recreation Area (restrooms available). The Forks of the Delaware (confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers) is the junction of the Delaware Canal and Lehigh Canal.
